10/8 El
Paso - Torino, Italy: Cool squat. + they had
a record store with bootleg tapes of records you usually
have to pay $30 for, like Death and June and shit. No sound
person, so Skot and I did the sound. Its really not that
hard to do sound. I don't know whats wrong with some people.
The crowd was stiff though, so it was kind of a boring show,
you know?
10/9 Babilonia - Imperia, Italy:
Tiny town on the Italian Riviera. The kids at this show
were nuts! They wouldn't let us off the stage. Some of them
even knew the lyrics and were singing along. Later, they
literally bounced off the walls for another 5 hours as the
dj played American punk. We stayed with this girl at her
parent's house. Really beautiful! The next day we had a
nice lunch with her family. |

This
is where we played in Trate, Slovenia. No Shit!

10/10 Casello -- Cervia, Italy:
Sucked.
10/11 Centro Sociale Autogestito
- Udine, Italy: Now here's a show that seemed
like it was going to suck, but it ended up being pretty
damn cool. The Chicago kid showed up on a rented motorbike
as well.
10/12 MKNZ - Il. Bistrica, Slovenia:
Had some trouble getting across the border, but we
made it. We watched France v. Slovenia in Football .Sadly
Slovenia lost 5-0. Good show. Cool people. Some kids from
Croatia came up for the show and they were cool. We got
VERY drunk together.

the Jumanji Dance Cafe in Vienna, Austria

10/13 Bajta - Trate, Slovenia: This place is
literally in the middle of fucking nowhere (look at the
picture)! Off the main road and up a number of dirt roads
to this small shack with no running water. We played in
the wine cellar. Kinda boring show, but fun nonetheless.
Later the power went out at it was pitch fucking black!
10/14 - 10/15 Days off -Vienna,
Austria: Got to see Erase Errata at the Chelsea.
Great show and great to hang out with Jenny and swap tour
stories! Plus Skot and I met this cool girl Adele from
Australia who showed us all over the city. Beautiful city,
by the way. Oh and shit! We found this café called
the Jumanji café. Bizarre!

| 10/16 Bernolak -- Bratislava,
Slovakia: This was at a college, I think. The
punkers were split about 50/50 on us, but some deathrockers
found the show and they dug it and were very cool as all
deathrockers in Europe seem to be. Good show.
10/17 EKH - Vienna, Austria:
10/17 EKH - Vienna, Austria: There were more dogs than
people at this squat and about a dozen dog fights. We
all thought it was pretty fucked up, but most of the locals
seemed to think it was ok for the dogs to kill each other.
Very drunk, I finally told one guy that I had a poodle
that would fuck his dog up and offered to bet him $50.
He offered to kill me. Anyway, the show was actually pretty
good. Ryan got bit by one of the dogs and had the dog
bark into the mic. + the sound guy was playing this cool
Astor Piazola cd that I've since picked up.
|
10/18 Krystal - Vsetin,
Czech Republic: It was cold as fuck outside and
hot as hell when we were playing. Lucky we did not catch
pneumonia. The show was packed and people in Europe and
especially the Czech Republic never say excuse me (in any
language), they just push you the fuck out of the way. And
they say Americans have no manners! + people were drunk
as all fucking hell at this show. Anyway, it was still fun.
10/19 U Babieky - Brno, Czech Republic:
We tripped the breakers three times during the set, which
was fun. Spoke a lot with this distro guy about the Czech
republic, Czech punk before and after the fall of Communism
and such. Cool guy.
10/20 Papirna - Prague, Czech Republic:
This cool deathrrock girl Amber came to the show and showed
us around Prague the next day. That was the best thing about
the show. We slept on this nasty floor with these nasty
old mattresses and the fucking booker tells us as we're
going to sleep: "If you itch, don't scratch because
its probably scabies. I've caught it 5 times in the last
few months." What an asshole! We were all freaking
out every time we had an itch for the next week. |
10/22
Subversiv - Berlin, Germany: Second show in
Berlin. By this time there was a buzz about us in town
and so there was a great turnout and another great show.
Later this guy started giving me shit for pissing in the
yard, where everyone had been pissing all night, and where
the dogs all shitted. I think he must have been the mayor
of Berlin or something, because he said he would make
sure we never play Berlin again. I told him he was a nazi
and started singing "Deutchland Uber Alles."
With the exception of that asshole, Berlin rules!

Republic

10/23 Gauss Srt. 79, Hamburg,
Germany: Third show in Hamburg. Why? I don't
know. This was in this weird caravan squat area. Definitely
the most chaotic show. People were seriously fucked up
as in drunk and as in just fucked in the head. The PA
was jacked. Skot, Jason and I played "Purple Rain"
for about 20 minutes, which was probably the highlight.
10/24 U-Shop - North Bremen,
Germany: Whatever. Afterward, we went to Rum
bumpers for some picante shots.
10/26 ORKZ - Gronigen, Holland:
This was an ok show, except they had this beer
called "Brand" which was about the best beer
I had in Europe. Anyway, I had one from this one bartender
and then all the other bartenders kept pretending that
the beer didn't exist, even when I pointed it out on the
menu. That was annoying.
10/27 De Diepte - Amsterdam, Holland:
Third show in Amsterdam, don't ask me why. The show kinda
sucked and there were more people at the bar after we
played than before. But the owner was a super cool dude
and made sure we had enough beer and gave us a really
nice place to stay.
10/28 Amsterdam, Holland:
Got our shit the fuck ready to go home. Went to the Rijk's
museum.
10/29 Amsterdam, Holland:
After spending about 9 hours in the airport we finally
get on the fucking plane. 10 hours later we are at SFO.
WE"RE HOME FUCK YEAH! USA! USA! USA!
